May 14th 2018; It was dark, ominous day for Brooklyn 99 fans as Fox announced that it had cancelled the sixth season of one of America’s most beloved modern comedies.
Well, after months of uncertainty, the series has finally found a lifeline thanks to famous fans such as Guillermo Del Toro, Mark Hamill, and Manuel Miranda leading the public outcry for the return of the sixth season.
24 hours later, NBC heard their cry.
And guess what? Nine- nine fans can now jump in exuberance as their favorite detective, Jake Peralta, is back on screen!
That being said, Andy Samberg isn’t so optimistic, believing that the show is running on borrowed time.
So this season might have a highly experimental outlook to it. Heck, you might even find one of the characters having superpowers!
Let’s address the elephant in the room…could Serg secretly be Superman?
We’ll have to find out, won’t we!
As Sandberg puts it, the cancellation was the worst thing to happen. But its also made the show more open to experimenting with its creative process
In fact, creator Dan Goor and Sandberg have even entertained the crazy idea of creating an episode entirely in Japanese anime!
The premiere picks up where the season five finale left us with bated breath; the revelation of whether or not Captain Holt will become the new commissioner of police.
As expected, the amount of buffoonery, satire, political incorrectness, and sarcasm are at an all-time high.
In fact, it almost feels like our beloved Nine-nine wasn’t even canceled in the first place!
